Red Line MTL GL-4 synthetic gear oil, a 75W80 grade oil whose viscosity is a low 75W at very low temperatures, rising to a high 80W, and nearly an 85W, at elevated temperatures. This ensures it provides adequate viscosity to prevent wear and deaden gear noise.
Overall, this gear oil offers excellent protection of gears and synchronizers, and its balanced slipperiness provides a perfect coefficient of friction, allowing easier shifting. Safe for brass synchros, as it lacks the reactive sulfurs found in most GL-5 oils that cause damage.
